Geraldine ‘Geri’ Ann Naveau passed away peacefully at INOVA Fairfax hospital on November 30th, 2019. An hour earlier, she received the healing rite of her beloved Catholic Church. Geri was born in Methuen, Massachusetts to parents Joseph and Sarah Martin on April 10, 1935. She is preceded in death by her brother Joseph and she is survived by her sister Ann, close cousins, God-child and family. Her entire life was one of joy, sacrifice, dedication and love. She became a sister of Bon Secours early in life, becoming a Registered Nurse and spending her time and energy in prayer, fellowship and caring for the sick. After some 17 years, Geri re-joined the secular life and continued her nursing career. She met her first husband, Rusty Altwood, who the Lord called home early in their marriage. After some time, she met and married Virgil Naveau, who became her husband and soul mate for the rest of their lives together. Geraldine is a life time member of the Associates of the Sisters of Bon Secours, USA, “having lived an exemplary and inspiring manner dedicated to the purpose and commitment to the mission and ministry of the sisters of Bon Secours”. She remained active throughout her lifetime, enjoying Bible study, which she loved, book club, family holidays and was a loyal and jubilant fan of the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers. She continued to maintain close and joyful fellowship with her family, friends, church and community fellows. May Geri Rest in Peace. We miss you already. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to the Leukemia and Alzheimer’s foundations.
