Sadie Marie Nuckols

Sadie Marie Nuckols, 97, of Montpelier, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on October 26, 2018. She was a proud member of Chapel Church of Christ in Montpelier. Nanny was 97 years full of life. She was born on July 4, 1921 and was fireworks to our entire family. She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Robert Lee Thompson, Woodrow Thompson, Hatch Thompson, and Thurman Pate; sister, Alma Ruth Harper; grandchildren, Walter Fox and Otho Butler Jr and daughter-in-law, Betty Fox. Sadie is survived by her children, Susan Hendrick (Irvin), Bruce Nuckols (Ladonna), Ann Butler (Phill), Bobby Fox (Grace), Jimmy Fox and Frank Fox (Betty); 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 12pm at Chapel Church of Christ, 16263 Woodman Hall Rd, Montpelier, VA 23192. A private interment will be held at the family's cemetery.
