Giuseppina "Josie" Bahta Edmonds

Giuseppina “Josie” Bahta Edmonds, 77, of Bloomington passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in I.U. Health, Bloomington Hospital. She was born December 25, 1940 in Asmara Ethiopia the daughter of Ababa Bahta. She was retired from the Residence Halls of Indiana University. Survivors include her daughter, Marianna Edmonds-Hogue and her husband John of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Cameron Hogue, Christian Hogue and Che Hogue; and one great grandchild, Karianna Marie Hogue. She was preceded in death by her mother. Josie was of the Catholic Faith. Prior to working for Indiana University she had been an Airline Stewardess with Sudan Airways and had worked with Head Start first by volunteering for 1500 hours before becoming a full time teacher. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking taking students under her wing at I.U. She was a very social person who was loved by all who knew her and was fluent in 5 languages. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third ST. Graveside Services will be Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 3:00 PM in Garrison Chapel Cemetery, 1900 S. Garrison Chapel Rd with Father Thomas Kovatch officiating.
