Shirley Donetta Gardiner

Shirley Donetta Gardiner, 81, of Bloomington died Monday, June 29, 2020 in her home with her family at her side. She was born July 2, 1938 in Bloomington to Abe Stanton and Mallie Mildred Cummings Stanton. She had owned her own cleaning company. Survivors include her daughter, Mallie (Kurt) Nesheim of Cumming, Georgia; three sons, Joseph (Marilou) William Gardiner of Queens Creek, Arizona. Gregory (Adrienne) Michael Gardiner of Wheatland, Missouri and Richard (Stacey) Stanton Gardiner of Urbana, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Bridget, Anthony, Michael, Sarah, Richard, Joyce, Sean, Brandon, Gretchen, Jeremiah, Rachel, Jordon and Taylor; 11 great grandchildren; four sisters, Doris Patterson, Billie (husband Ray) Roberts and Brenda K. Stanton all of Bloomington and Martha Temple of Medora; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Anthony Ray Gardiner; a grandson Gregory Patrick Gardiner; three brothers, William, Raymond and Robert Stanton; and four sisters, Margaret Ohler, Josephine Hash, Barbara Benson and Alma Stanton. Shirley was of the Catholic Faith, she cherished spending time with her family, she enjoyed shopping, traveling and decorating. No services are scheduled at this time; there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel.
