 Obituario de Yuet Ngor Yee
Yuet Ngor Yee Carmel - Yuet Ngor Yee passed away on November 11, 2020 at the age of 97. Yuet is survived by her children Virginia (Steckley), Jenny, King, Lily (Teng), Henry, fourteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Husband Lee Chow Yee, sons Hauk Yee and Ngon Yee predeceased her. Yuet was born on December 30, 1922 to father Hong Wo Yee and mother Bow Hi Ng in China's Lin Hang village of the Guangdong (Canton) region. She married Lee and immigrated to the United States in 1950, settling in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Upon establishing themselves, Yuet, a homemaker, and her family moved to the northeast Indianapolis suburb of Devington near 46th Street and Arlington Avenue in 1964. Yuet's family had close friendships with many persons in the Devington area, maintaining contact to this day. The Lotus Garden restaurant near the Indiana State Fairgrounds that Yuet's husband co-owned and operated with four other prominent business men flourished and resulted in the Greenwood restaurant location being opened in the mid-1960's. With anticipation of a third restaurant, Yuet and her husband relocated the family to southern rural Hamilton County in 1968. In the early 1970's the Carmel Lotus Garden restaurant location opened. Yuet encouraged her children to pursue their education and professions, leading by example: completing adult English evening classes and studying homework alongside her children; obtaining her motor vehicle drivers license at an adult age, and working part-time as a seamstress. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading about current events, cooking traditional Chinese meals and pastries, and regularly conversing with her close friends. Yuet will be fondly remembered for her family dedication and diligent care, holiday traditions, resourcefulness, perseverance, and resolve. A private service will be conducted at the Carmel Leppert Mortuary on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. There will be no visitation, and the service will be limited to Yuet's family and relatives. Mausoleum interment to rejoin her husband will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens of Indianapolis. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent Hospital Foundation of Indianapolis.
