. Joanne Rahn, 87, of Nashville, IN a long time resident of Columbus, died 10:35 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Joanne was born in Steubenville, Ohio June 7, 1930, the daughter of Ralph and Loretta Shepherd Skinner. She married Donald J. Rahn in Wintersville, Ohio September 1, 1962; he preceded her in death March 5, 1997.
She was a registered nurse, having worked at Columbus Regional Hospital, private duty nurse for Elsie Sweeney and 20 years at Sandcrest Medical retiring as office manage. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Red Cross, Foster Grandparent program at Hope, IN, volunteer at Love Chapel and Volunteers in Medicine. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was a great influence in their lives.
She is survived by daughters, Charlotte Dear-Wolff of Nashville, IN and Wendy Dear of Columbus, IN; brother, Richard (Carol) Skinner of Myrtle Beach, SC; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Roger Rahn.
Funeral service will be conducted at Noon Friday Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Adam Carrigan officiating. Visitation will be 4~8 p.m. Thursday Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street and from 10 a.m. Friday to service time at the church. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
