Lucio “Lu” Lozano, born December 15, 1933, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at the age of 86 years old. Lu was a native of Mexico City, Mexico. Lu attended school in Mexico City and proudly joined the United States Army in 1953. When Lu was 9 years old, he met the love of his life and wife of 59 years, Lourdes (Gutierrez) Lozano. Lu worked in the manufacturing business in Mexico City and Northwest Indiana for over 50 years and was known for his friendly and caring attitude and his sense of humor. Lu was a mentor to many and made an impact on everyone who had the privilege to be a part of his life. He was a simple man but always willing to give his all to whoever needed a hand. He taught his children the meaning of living life to the fullest. He made sure his children understood that there is no greater love than the love of their mother, taught them to always respect and forgive, and most of all to be grateful for every one and every moment in their lives. Lu is preceded in death by parents Isabel and Carlos Lozano and his siblings Osbelia, Enriqueta, Jorge and David. He is survived by his wife Lourdes, his son Jorge Lozano and his wife Mary, his daughter Lillian Harkness and her husband David, his daughter Diana “Eddie” Morley Lozano, brothers Carlos and Manuel, and his grandchildren Kendall, Garrett, Kendra, Alexander, Sarah and his many beloved nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, August 11 from 4-8 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 12 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel, 1 E. Wilhelm Street, Schererville, IN. Per Governor Mandate masks are required at the visitation and Funeral Mass.
