Margaret Elizabeth Gonser

Margaret (Peggy) Gonser, age 96, peacefully passed away on October 8, 2020. She was preceded in death by husband Carl; daughter, Elizabeth; sisters, Isabell and Carol; sister's-in-law, Evelyn Pringle and Pauline Warner. Peggy is survived by sister, Marjorie Lamarcke; niece, Cecilia Flores and many great nieces and nephews. Peggy was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Karl and Elizabeth Chittenden. She earned a BA Degree in nursing with a teaching certification. After marrying, she and husband Carl moved to the Calumet City/Lansing area. They became active members in the First Methodist Church of Lansing and remained members until their death. Peggy was also employed as a school nurse in the Hoover Schrum School Dist. 157. She remained there for more than 40 years before retiring. Peggy had many talents and interests. She enjoyed her home and entertaining. Peggy was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. She will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched.
