Joan Elizabeth Harpe

Joan Elizabeth Harpe, 89, of Newburgh, IN, passed away on Wednesday February 6, 2019. She was born on February 23, 1929 in Tell City, IN to the late Frank and Agnes Bredhold. Joan was a school bus driver in Tell City and Evansville for 46 years. She was a life-long member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Joan was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by; son Billy Jesse Harpe; 4 sisters and 1 brother. Joan is survived by; daughter Cheryl Harpe (Floyd Barrick); son Daniel Harpe (Sandra); 4 grandchildren, Danielle, Brandon, Davin and Nick Harpe; 8 great-grandchildren; and her beloved poodle, Angus. The family would like to offer their love and thanks to Newburgh Healthcare for their love and dedication, and, Heart to Heart Hospice. A Memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Bernard Etienne. Burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Tell City, IN. Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Heart to Heart Hospice.
