JoAnn Dedmond

JoAnn Dedmond passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 in Evansville, IN. She was born in Columbus, GA on December 5, 1935 to the late John and Willie (Kinnamon) Staten. She had her own childcare in her home and loved attending activities of her children and grandchildren. JoAnn loved shopping with her daughter and always made the best cookies. JoAnn was preceded in death by husband of 62 years, Donald Dedmond; two brothers, Herschel Cooke and John Staten. She is survived by her daughter, Terri Porter (Roger); sons, Mike Dedmond (Audrey), Steve Dedmond (Kristy) and Todd Dedmond (Amanda); grandchildren, Cory Porter (Polly), Sara Porter, Arrika Taylor (Bryce), Max Dedmond (Sloane), Ryan Dedmond, Ben Dedmond, Beau Dedmond and Brooke Dedmond; great grandchildren, Aidan Porter, Veyda Dedmond, Vanna Dedmond, Taiya Dedmond; sister, Mary Elizabeth Morgan; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be Sunday, June 7, 2020 at 3:00p.m. officiated by Rev. Bob Cox and Rev. Art Christmas, at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown road with burial in Sunset Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit Sunday, June 7, 1:00pm until service time.
