Kathleen Sharon Gerbig

Kathleen "Vessels" Gerbig, 84, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Linda E. White Hospice House. She was born September 23, 1933, in Evansville, IN to the late Joseph F. and Catherine (Young) Vessels.
She graduated from Mater Dei High School and retired from the Executive Inn Catering Department. Kathleen was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW #1114, St. Boniface Church, St. Ann Alter Society, and Forest Hills Wesleyan Church.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her first husband, James L. Sallee; second husband, Lawrence Gerbig; and brother, Joseph F. Vessels.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Evans; son, Jerry Thompson; step-daughter, Sandi Schmidt; step-son, Larry Gerbig; brothers, James L Vessels and Fred D. Vessels of Evansville, IN, Benjamin Raymond Vessels of Owensboro, KY, and Greg K. Vessels of Ypsilanti, MI; Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Forest Hills Wesleyan Church, 2801 Claremont Ave., Evansville, IN 47712, officiated by Pastor Ray Austin, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
