Philco A Jones

Philco Albert Jones, 70, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Linda White Hospice House. He was born August 3, 1947, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Albert and Pearl (Cook) Jones. Philco had been a machine operator for Inland Container. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for many years and had served in the US Air Force. He was a social butterfly who had an infectious personality. Philco was a very talented musician and could play by ear. He played the organ, guitar, piano and bass. He was a very well-known musician in the tri-state area and had played with many groups and churches. He loved to roller skate and feed everybody. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Scruggs) Jones; daughters, Kristie Jones (Jermaine Finger), Andrea Jones and Kendra Jones; sisters, Clara Jones Kendrick and Shellie Jones; grandchildren, Lavonte Jones, LaDavion Jones, Andre Jones, Carl Baucham, Jr., Alexa Jones, and Kyran Baucham; great grandchild, Alijah Jones; one niece; aunt Celeste Phipps; uncle Curtis Moss; and cousins. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Cleaves Memorial CME Church, 650 Line Street, officiated by Rev. Dr. Amariah McIntosh, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander East Chapel.
