Raymond "Ray" C. Holder Jr.

Raymond C. Holder, Jr., 85, of Evansville, IN went to be with our Lord on Friday, August 2, 2019. He was born to Emma Jean (Lawrence) and Raymond C. Holder, Sr. in 1934. Ray attended Delaware Grade School and graduated from Central High School in 1952. He served in the US Navy from 1953 to 1957 and kept in touch with many of his Navy buddies. He enjoyed the Boy Scouts and baseball as a youth and golfing and fishing as an adult. He was employed at Keller Crescent for 35 years and as a valet for the Evansville Regional Airport for eight years. Ray was an active member of Christ Church UCC. The joy of Ray’s life was his family and he adored his granddaughter, Sarah. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy (Breidenbach) Holder; daughters, Margaret Holder Mikesell and Lisa Holder both of Evansville; grandddaugher, Sarah Sinclair of Chicago, IL; sister and brother-in-law, Doris (Holder) Caple (Chuck) of Summerfield, FL; four nephews; one niece; six great nephews; and eight great nieces. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at Christ Church United Church of Christ, 3601 Washington Avenue, officiated by Rev. Michael Erwin, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit on Tuesday, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
