Although I never had the honor of being a student of Mrs. Chrosniak, our paths crossed when my father was a resident at Lawyers Glenn in MInt Hill, NC. I recognized her and invited her to join us for Sunday lunch on a couple of occasions. We always tried to make sure my father had a family Sunday lunch with family and I requested she join us . She was delightful.

Had the privilege of serving St. Stephen UMC during the 1990's and loved every moment and story shared with sweet Miss Maxine. She always was interesting and interested in others, especially the children. My daughter was 10 when we moved and this morning at age 33 she said, " Of course I remember Miss Maxine, she always had fresh flowers to share". I remember celebrating her book release, "Shriveled Soul" and any day seeing her smile brought joy to my life. This world is a better place because of her and I will always treasure the blessings she brought to my life

Maxine and I talked about the power of prayer. She showed me her notebook where she had kept my name during my breast cancer and prayed for me each day. She kept everyone’s name that was ever mentioned for prayer in it and prayed faithfully for them. Her strength and love were beautiful.

Maxine was a delightful lady that shared her joy with all she encountered. It was a pleasure to see her each Sunday at St. Stephen. You could always count on Maxine for warm smile, a big hug and an interesting story. Our condolences to her family. Kim & Tom Henderson

So very sorry to hear about Maxine's passing. She was always a bright, smiling, positive person and a friend / grandmother to all at St. Stephen - the unofficial mayor / master-greeter during church for many years. Prayers for the entire family. Brian, Elizabeth, Meagan and Emily Barger

I once had the real honor and joy of leading a Disciple Bible Study course with Maxine. She never met a stranger and always put a smile on you face. Maxine always hugged our boys and shared stories, as only she could, about her own son growing up. Maxine lived her faith! What a real treasure heaven has gained

Maxine always met us with a smile and a hug at St Stephen UMC. She left a legacy of kindness to those she met. She made a difference in the world around her and I am so thankful our paths crossed at St Stephen UMC.

Maxine sat either in front or behind us in church for several years. She was such a lovely lady - full of kindness and fun. She often told my husband what pretty ears he had! He remarks on that often. She lived a wonderful, fulfilled life and she will be sorely missed by the church and all who knew her. God bless all the children and grandchildren.. Love, The Moores

Maxine was the first person I met when I visited St Stephen 21 years ago after our move to Charlotte. Her hugs and greetings each Sunday demonstrated the love of Christ to all who had the pleasure and honor of knowing her.
