Patricia Smith

Patricia Ann Smith passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 after a long battle with breast cancer. She was the eldest child of Gladys and Merle Hasson. Pat is survived by her son John C. Smith Jr., her daughter Suzanne M. Green, her brother Ross D. Hasson, and her granddaughter Lauren A. Andersson. She was born and raised in Fremont, NE. Pat taught elementary and high school before transitioning to a full-time homemaker. She was a Chi Omega alumnus, member of the Greater McLean Republican Woman’s Club, American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary, and very active in McLean Postcomers. For 17 years, Pat worked as a volunteer at the White House first in presidential greetings and then in Vice President Cheney’s correspondence office. She was the beloved wife of John C. Smith who passed away in 1992 and will be buried next to him. Family was always foremost in her life and she loved to play cards, especially with her family. The funeral will be held 11 AM Monday, February 18 at Saint Luke Catholic church in McLean, VA (a reception will follow at the church).
