Clara Mae (Bilbrey) Reynolds

Clara Mae (Bilbrey) Reynolds went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Clara was born in Clyde, Ohio, on November 24, 1931. Clara was a regular columnist in the Waynesdale News with her column Reynolds Wrap Around Waynedale. She published two books, a memoir titled, The Reynolds Wrap, and a youth book titled, Just One Hill, about her mother’s time in Sierra Leone. Clara worked for the Missionary Church World Headquarters and Taylor University-Fort Wayne. She was actively involved in Child Evangelism Fellowship. She also freelance wrote children’s Sunday School literature. Clara is survived by her brother, Wayne (Susan) Bilbrey (Sandusky, OH); her sons, David (Bev) Reynolds (Fort Wayne, IN), Timothy (Diane) Reynolds (Colorado Springs, CO), Peter (Brenda) Reynolds (Frederick, MD), Philip (Kathy) Reynolds (Dayton, OH); fifteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, one and a half great-great-grandchildren, and beloved niece Tabitha (Roy) McCarthy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edison; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Naomi; as well as her siblings, Richard, Leroy, Martha Ann, and Johny. A Celebration of Life Service to honor Clara's memory will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, May 15, 2022, in the Lutheran Life Villages' Chapel, 6701 South Anthony Boulevard, Fort Wayne (phone: 260.557.1016). She will be laid to rest in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor may be directed to Lutheran Life Villages.
