Hakeem O’mer Cage, 23, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born August 6, 1997 in Kankakee, Ill., he was raised in Kankakee and moved to Fort Wayne in 2012. A graduate of South Side High School, class of 2015, he received excellent grades and furthered his education at Indiana Tech, studying Psychology. A basketball fanatic, he was a fan of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Damian Lillard. Hakeem enjoyed anything Nike, the color red, rap music, drawing, and writing his own music. A lovable person, Hakeem had many friends, was an honorary daddy to his beloved niece, and was a lady’s man. He also possessed a strong will and strong attitude. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Tina and Quaashie Whitlow of Fort Wayne; sister, Asada Hilton of Fort Wayne; brothers, Myrikal Allen and Camrein Whitlow of Illinois; children, Ta’mia Adigun of Fort Wayne, Londyn Moore of Fort Wayne, and one baby on the way; niece, Aa’Riyah Hilton of Fort Wayne; grandparents, Cleo and Carolyn Cage of Illinois; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Willie and Beatrice Cage. Private services to be held by the family.
