Jack L Baumert

Jack L. Baumert, 75, passed away on February 20, 2021. He was born on February 16, 1946 in Paulding Ohio. Jack served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968, having served in Vietnam and was awarded a National Defense service medal, Vietnam service medal and Vietnam campaign medal. Jack obtained an associates degree from ITT in Fort Wayne. He worked as an electrician and retired from BF Goodrich in 2004. He was avid fisherman and enjoyed hockey, specifically the Fort Wayne Komets. Jack was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Jeanette Baumert; daughter, Michelle (Norm) Hiler; son-in-law, Jeffrey Chadwick; grandchildren, Sasha (Dustin) Sensabaugh, Scarlette (Randall) Slattman, Sabryna (Travis) Allen, Logan (Gabe) Emerson, Zachary Chadwick; seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty (Esten) Fortney and Chuck Baumert; and daughter Jill Chadwick. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46815 with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place in Lehman Cemetery, Payne, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Fort Wayne.
