Le Roy F. Steinman, Sr.

Le Roy F. Steinman, Sr., 94, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 25, 2018. He was born on August 20, 1923 in Woodburn, a son of the late Ervin R. and Appa (Freed) Steinman. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany. He worked for Rea Magnet Wire for 37 years before retiring in 1990. He was a member at Elmhurst Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed playing golf. His love for his Lord and his family were his greatest pleasures in life. Surviving family include his son, Le Roy “Lee” (Sharon) Steinman; daughter, Saundra “Sandy” (Steve) Allmandinger; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Phyllis (Jones) Steinman in 2012; and siblings, Donald Steinman, Laurabelle Thompson, and Howard Steinman. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., Fort Wayne with visitation being at 12:00 pm noon with Rev. Richard Dickson officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Elmhurst Church of the Nazarene or Visiting Nurse. The family would like to an extend a very big thank you to all the staff at the Kingston Care Center in caring for Le Roy and his family.
