Sam A. Funich Sr.

Sam A Funich Sr, 82, of Fort Wayne, passed away on March 20, 2018. Born on February 27, 1936, in Lynch, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Tony and Bessie Funich. A member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, Fort Wayne; he proudly served his country in the Army. He retired from UPS after many years of service as a dockworker. Sam enjoyed Deer Hunting, Bowling, and watching University of Kentucky Basketball. He is survived by his son Sam A Funich Jr; his good friend, Ellen Baker, as well as many other friends. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Funich; son, Gregory Funich; and brother, Andrew J Funich. Mass of Christian burial will be 11am, Wednesday, March 28, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 4 to 8pm, Tuesday, March 27, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with a vigil service at 6:00pm. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Warrior Breed MC.
