William C. George

William C. George, age 97, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021. William was born January 21, 1924 in Southfork, PA, the son of the late Cecil and Violet George. William served in the US Army during WWII until he was discharged in 1945. He went on to serve on the Fort Wayne Fire Department for 21 years, retiring in 1977. He and his wife then owned the Candy Village until 1983. He then worked at Huser- Paul Co. INC for 15 years until he retired in 2000. William was a member of the Scottish Rite, Mason Lodge 342, Shriners (director and staff past president,) American Legion 296 and Ft. Wayne Firefighters Club. In his spare time he enjoyed watching the Cubs, and enjoyed IU Basketball. He is survived by his children, William L. (Lynda) George and Cynthia Timma; four grandchildren, Michelle (Ron) Hall, Melanie (Dan) Rohloff, Marni Anderson and Barry (Beth) George and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth George on April 25, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 16, 2021 with calling one hour prior at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805.
