Gary Froestad

Gary Froestad, 58, of Stafford passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018. Born August 2, 1960 in Brooklyn, New York to Martin and Astrid (Skytt) Froestad; Gary was the oldest of three. After graduating high-school, Gary joined the Navy in January 1979 and served his country for twenty-five years. On July 28, 1995 Gary married Barbara Arnold of Pascagoula, Mississippi. After several moves with the military, Gary and his family settled in Fredericksburg, Virginia in the early 2000s. Throughout his life Gary was an avid golfer. He was a member at the Augustine Golf Club, where last year he shot his second hole-in-one. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; and his six children; Mandy Froestad, Jessica McGanty (Nathan), Heather Arnold, Justin Arnold, Matthew Froestad (Ashley), and Tyler Froestad. Gary had five grandchildren, Morgan, DaShaun, Ciera, Madison, and Mason. Gary is also survived by his mother, Astrid; and his two sisters, Janice, and Karyn. He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Froestad. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel.
