It is with great sadness that the family of Joan Marlene LeSage, formerly of Rochester, NY, announces her passing on October 27, 2020, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA.
Born on August 4, 1941, in Rochester, NY, to Stafford and Ethel LeSage. Ms. LeSage graduated from St. Agnes High School and went on to Flight Attendant School in Minnesota. While there, she took the Civil Service exam and left for a job in Washington, D.C. Ms. LeSage retired from Social Security in Rochester, NY after 32 of service.
Ms. LeSage had married and later divorced, Captain William I. Jones, retired, (deceased). Ms. LeSage got to travel to many places as a military wife, California, Cuba, Hawaii and Virginia. Ms. LeSage was a loving and devoted mother and there were times when William was overseas, she raised her kids alone while working a full time job. She was a strong and independent person.
Ms. LeSage returned home to Rochester, NY, to be surrounded by her very loving, large, extended family. She lived a very full life among her family and friends.
Ms. LeSage was preceded in death by by her parents, Stafford and Ethel LeSage andone grandson Dylan M. Jones.
She is survived by her son, William Duncan Jones, II, his wife, Janet Jones, her grandson Dakota Jones, her daughter, Melinda A. Jones; her grandson, Colin R. Friend.. Ms. LeSage is also survived by her sister, Carol Hutchins, her brother in law, Robert Hutchins, as well as nieces and great nieces and nephews and so many other extended family members. She was grateful for all..
A celebration of life will be held in the spring time and Ms. LeSage will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester, NY.
