Mirian Ibarra De Velasco

Mirian Ibarra De Velasco, age 88, of Spotsylvania, VA passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at the Mary Washington Hospital. Mirian was born to Valeriano Raul Silva Ibarra and Angelica Rodriguez Luna on January 25, 1932 in El Salvador. Mirian married the love of her life, Luis Angel Velasco in 1956, in what was said to be a fairy tale wedding. She was a beautiful Bride. They had three children: Elizabeth Del Carmen, Luis and Ana Carolina . Mirian retired as a School Principal after serving the school system for over 35 years. In addition to being a dedicated mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother, Mirian also loved traveling, one of her favorite places to visit was Japan. She enjoyed shopping, walking, sightseeing, and cooking traditional El Salvadoran dishes. She devoted her life to helping others. It was her goal to prepare the way for her family to have happiness, goodwill, success, and the American dream. Mirian regularly donated to various charitable organizations. Her kind spirit and positive demeanor affected others; she never met someone that she didn’t like. Throughout her life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Mirian is preceded in death by her parents; Valeriano Raul Silva Ibarra and Angelica Rodriguez Luna, her Husband; Luis Angel Velasco, her Brothers; Edgardo Ibarra and Raúl Ibarra, and her sisters; Yolanda Marquez and Ketty De Canana. She is survived by her son, Luis Velasco and his wife Tanya; her daughters, Elizabeth Carmen Rouse and her husband Charles, Carolina Lozada and her husband Wilfredo; three sisters, Arely Ibarra, Clelia Flesher, and Conchita Calderón; four grandchildren, Angela Kerrigan and her husband Brian, Michelle Zamperini and her husband Frank, Charles Anthony Rouse, and Maria Velasco and two great grandchildren, Angelina Zamperini and Trinity Elizabeth Kerrigan, who affectionately called her “Mimi”. The Family would like to give special thanks to Father Koehr, of St Mary's Church, and Father Shafer, of St Anthony of Padua church for their spiritual support. Her niece, Lilita Ibarra de Carcamo, Lila Alvarado de Ayala, Clarita and Luis Urrutia in El Salvador, for all their help and care, and to the many nieces, nephews, other Family members, and all her wonderful friends who loved her and prayed with us daily. Forever In Our Hearts Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrows. But remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I've only gone to rest awhile. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt and given me relief. So dry your eyes and remember me, not as I am now, but how I used to be. I will remember you all and look on with a smile, understand in your hearts, I've only gone to rest awhile.
