Audrey M. Barkley

Audrey Mae Barkley, age 90, of Montgomery, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Northern Lakes Nursing Center, Angola, Indiana. Audrey was born on May 27, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to Adelaide Emma (Kuhn) and Charles Wootke, they preceded her in death. She graduated from Western High School in Detroit, Michigan. Audrey married Bernard William “Bill” Barkley on May 20, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan, he preceded her in death on March 22, 2013. She was a longtime member of the California Corners Church, and the California Corners Women’s Society. She was also active with the Branch County 4-H Club for many years. Audrey enjoyed flowers and gardening. Survivors include her sons, John (Peggy) Barkley, and Ron Barkley, both of Montgomery, Michigan, and her grandchildren, Matthew (Alissa) Barkley of Rochester, Michigan, John Barkley of Montgomery, Michigan, Elizabeth (Kyle) Kelley of Sturgis, Michigan, and Jerad Barkley of Montgomery. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Wootke, and a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Barkley. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Monday, September 16, 2019 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana. Pastor Jeffrey Teeple and Pastor Mark Case will officiate the service. There will be an hour of calling prior to the services from 10 am until 11 am Monday at Beams Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at California Cemetery, Montgomery, Michigan. A dinner will be held at the California Corners Church immediately following the burial.
