Thelma M. Antrup

Thelma May Antrup, age 89, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Northern Lakes Nursing Center, Angola, Indiana. Thelma was born on March 22, 1929 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She married Lester Antrup on April 7, 1947 in Angola, Indiana, he preceded her in death on May 6, 2007. Thelma and Lester raised their family on a farm east of town. Later in life, Thelma and Lester moved to Southern Indiana, living in Montgomery, Indiana for about ten years. After Lester’s passing, Thelma moved back to Fremont. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, fishing, and was quite the card player. She was a longtime member of the Fremont Moose Lodge, and the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post # 257 Auxiliary. Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Wiseman, and Cathy (Jerry) Jackson, and a son, Darrel (Tammy) Antrup, all of Fremont, Indiana, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, a sister, Anita Powell of Angola, Indiana, two brothers, Coy Wise of Coldwater, Michigan, and Robert Wise of Michigan, and a sister-in-law, Alda Antrup of Angola, Indiana. Thelma was also preceded in death by her parents, Dora (Thomas) Wise, and Herman Wise, her step-mother, Ruth Wise, two daughters, Carolyn Sue Antrup, and Judie Geeraedts, two sons, Kenneth Avery Antrup, and Charles Eugene Antrup, a sister, Betty Haviland, and a brother, Harold Wise. Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm Monday, November 5, 2018 at Beams Funeral Home, with Rev. Jon Bruney officiating. Calling hours will be held prior to the services from 11 am until 1 pm Monday at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Fremont Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana, at a later time.
