Robert Dean Kennedy, age 81, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2010. A native of New London, OH, he was a resident of Hampton for 41 years.
Robert was a member of Warwick Assembly of God. He served honorably in the U.S. Army and retired as Sgt. First Class in 1969 with 22 ½ years of service. He is a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam conflicts and received numerous decorations to include the Good Conduct Medal Fourth Award; Bronze Star Medal, with Oak Leaf Cluster; National Defense Service Medal, with Oak Leaf Cluster; Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters; Vietnam Service Medal; and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Preceding him in rest are his parents, Wilfred W. and Treva Strimple Kennedy. Surviving members of his family include his wife of 55 years, Esther Kennedy; brother-in-law, Gene Williamson of Galloway, NJ; sister-in-law, Tina Williamson of Hampton; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 13, from 3 to 5:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Robert's life will be held Monday, June 14, at 12:00 PM, at Warwick Assembly of God, 1228 Todds Lane, Hampton. Interment will follow in Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Warwick Assembly of God.
