Gerald S. Carlotta

Gerald S. Carlotta, 85, formerly from Griffith, IN passed away peacefully on December 29, 2019. He is proceeded in death by his wife of 60 years, Joyce E. Carlotta and sons Robert and Kenneth. He is survived by his 2 daughters Debra (Val) Gonzalez and Lois (David) Brown. His five grandchildren Bryan (Crystal) Gonzalez, Katherine Demopoulos, David (Ashly) Brown, Sabrina (Michael) Ray, and Brittany (Brad) Press. 10 Great-Grandchildren Adrianna, Bryan, Julian, Gabriella, Edgar, Dillon, Owen, Mason, Brynn, and Beckham. Siblings John Carlotta, Shirley (late Herman) Stevens, David (Sharon) Carlotta, and Donna Francis. Further survived by the Demopoulos family (Vicky, Dimitri, and Selina). A special thank you to Kalia and the Silver Birch family. Gerald was a die hard Chicago sports fan- Bulls, Bears, and White Sox. He was an avid reader and loved 50's music. He loved western books and movies. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He served in the U.S. Army at the end of the Korean War. He won numerous ping-pong tournaments during his time of service. He retired from LTV Steel Company and moved to Las Vegas, NV. Arrangements provided by Kuiper funeral home. A private family memorial will be held in his honor. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Jude's and Shriners Hospital for Children.
