Peter “Pete” B. Mireles of Gary, formerly of Hessville, IN entered into life on September 9, 1956 and entered into eternity at age 63 on December 26, 2019. Pete had been married to the love of his life, Cheryl (nee Bobos) Mireles who passed away in 2010. He is survived by siblings: Michael (Gail) Mireles, Julie (Scott) Birmingham, Nicholas (Georgia) Mireles, Karina (Josh) Vari, Brenda (Mark) Byquist and Demas (Keri) Mireles; nieces and nephews: Reyna, Jason, Nicole, Joseph, Bryan, Greg, Sarah, Keith, and Aubrie; and great nieces and nephews: Aiden, Gabriel, Drayton, Nalani, Ellie and Charlie. He was preceded in death by parents: Jennie (nee Borroel) Stork, Jesse Mireles, and Henry “Hank” (late Dorothy) Stork; and brother Jesse Mireles. Peter graduated from Morton Senior High School in 1974. He was a church and choir member of the New Mount Olive Baptist Church in Gary. Pete loved to sing, play guitar and piano, wrestling, muscle cars, bowling, swimming, being outdoors and his favorite sports team, the Chicago Bears. He was loved and will be missed. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 3 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland IN with Pastor Charles A. Floyd II of New Mount Olive Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1-3 PM (time of service).
