Dorma F. Smith, 90 of Huntington passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. Dorma had worked as a waitress at the Heidelburg and Don’s Truck Stop. She was a member of the VFW Post 2689 Auxiliary, and was a member of the Women’s Drill Team. She loved to cook and bake and was a talented seamstress. Dorma was loved by a lot of people in a lot of places. She was a very generous but bull-headed person, she enjoyed making pies and Christmas cookies. Dorma was born on July 18, 1930 in Newhope, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Vernon and Hazel (Everett) Nichols. She was united in marriage to Hugh W. Smith on March 5, 1948 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Hugh preceded her in death on May 23, 2013. Survivors include three daughters: Jo Ellen Ehler of Huntington, Mary E. Booth of Huntington, Deborah A. (Stuart) Frummer of Cochecton, NY; four half-sisters: Lequita Spangler of Sun City, AZ, Ellen Ruth Hook, Janie Nichols, Donna Nichols all of Houston, TX; three grandchildren: Anthony Paul Ehler, Katie Jo (Jeff) Van Dyk, Megan Jones Frummer and two great grandchildren: Emma Munier, Caleb Munier. She was preceded in death by a sister: Joyce Nichols. There will be no public visitation or services. Interment will be at the Marion National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations can be made out to VFW Post 2689 in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
