Richard D. "Moose" Hower

Richard D. "Moose" Hower, 64 of Huntington passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Richard was a 1972 graduate of Huntington North High School. He worked at Our Sunday Visitor, Carter Lumber and delivered pizza for Pizza Hut. He enjoyed camping, playing chess and spending time with his family. Richard was born on March 3, 1956 in Portland, Indiana, the son of the late Donald and Dorothy (Beaty) Hower. Survivors include his girlfriend: Chantell Burnau of Huntington; a sister: Nancy (Mark) Paul of Huntington; a son: Adam Hower of Warren; four step children: Desiree (Rusty) DeVega of Marion, Eric (Heidi) Wood of Marion, Jolene (Matt) Worth of Carmel, Stacey McAlister of Jonesboro and sixteen grandchildren. He was united in marriage to Jane Wood. Jane preceded him in death in 1996. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Misty Jo Hower; a brother: Jack Hower and two grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm with funeral service to follow visitation at 1:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. We will be following the CDC’s and Indiana’s guidelines for Social Distancing and Social Gathering Limits. Interment will be at a later date.
