 Obituario de Jacquelin Jones-Gibbs
Jacquelin Marie Jones-Gibbs was born on July 27, 1954, to the union of Daniel Jones Sr. and Josephine Staples Jones in Indianapolis, Indiana. She grew up attending local parochial schools and graduated from Bishop Chatard High School and then completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees both from Indiana State University. She received a master’s degree in Counseling and worked at Family Service Association as an outreach counselor providing families in the Christamore and Flanner House neighborhoods with all facets of family counseling and much needed social services. The agency's mission statement was "to serve the most needy and vulnerable" which Jackie adopted as her own personal mission. Returning to school Jackie earned her school clinical counseling license and went on to work over twenty years as a high school counselor for the public schools last serving at Arsenal Tech High School. She knew that her experience working in the high-risk neighborhoods would translate over to working with students who were at risk. During her high school counseling career, Jackie started to explore real estate especially since she had purchased two homes on her own and became a landlord in the process. Jackie had also watched her father working as a part-time landlord which grew to peak her interest in the world of real estate. After completing real estate licensing Jackie worked consistently to help people become homeowners. Jackie retired from the school system and began working full-time as a realtor to continue serving all families in Central Indiana. She was always patient and attentive to her clients needs. Her years of experience with listening and advocating for students, families, and seniors allowed her the unique opportunity to negotiate her customer's real estate needs. When she was not working Jackie enjoyed spending time with her family, watching sports, listening to music, religious-spiritual podcasts, trying new restaurants, and reading. She was active with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc and Oasis Tutoring Program where she worked with students at Oaklandon Elementary School. Jackie participated on her sorority's Seasonal Wraps Committee which she crocheted and knitted hats for homeless families. Jackie also enjoyed helping with the Salvation Army's Angel Tree distribution and the Brightwood Community Center after school program. Jacquelin Jones-Gibbs went home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2021. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Daniel Jones II. She leaves to cherish her husband of 24 years, William E. Gibbs; sister, Charlotte Leavell; brother, Djuane Jones; nieces, Nichelle Leavell and Rochelle Leavell; nephew, Daniel Jones III; great-nephew, Dewayne J. Eddie Wallace; stepson, William B.
