 Obituario de Katherine S. McSoley
Katherine S. McSoley, 71, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home on June 26, 2021, surrounded by her loving husband and children, after a courageous 3 year battle with several chronic illnesses. Kate grew up in La Grange, Illinois. She danced and choreographed her way through Lyons Township High School. Kate pursued these two passions at the Butler University School of Performing Arts. While maintaining a focus on ballet, modern dance and choreography, she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She was a passionate advocate for children, firmly believing all kids deserve a chance to succeed in life. Kate also had a flair for women’s fashion, and after graduation emerged as a talented manager for the women’s clothing store the Lemon Tree. Destiny brought Tim to Kate one day when Tim’s sister Carol dragged him along on a shopping trip to the Lemon Tree. Tim was taken aback by Kate’s feisty spirit and unique beauty. He mustered the courage to give her his number….and the rest is history. She also loved research and began working as a mutual fund research analyst for Tim. She combined this with becoming a major force in Jake and Abby’s school system. A beautiful and sophisticated woman inside and out, Kate was quite the wordsmith. Scrabble, acrostics and crossword puzzles were more than a hobby to her - they were a passion. But her skills were diverse, as proven by being an incredible cook and party host with a keen eye for details. Kate loved all kinds of music, the arts, any and all books and had a million dollar vocabulary. She was a proud wife and mother who fiercely loved her husband, children and grandchildren more than anything. Her favorite saying for her kids and grandkids was: “You can do anything you put your mind to.” We will all deeply miss her. Kate is predeceased by her mother (Ruth Stout) and father (James Stout). She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Tim, and her children Jake (Jenn) Reardon-McSoley of Fishers and Abby Reardon-McSoley of Indianapolis. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandsons Jackson and Jace Reardon-McSoley, as well as her sister Janet McIntyre, brother Stephen (Kendall) Stout, nieces Meg (Jared) McIntyre and Martha Stout, and nephews Andrew (Eric) McIntyre and Trevor Stout. She also leaves behind a large loving in-law family including her mother-in-law Mary McSoley, brother in-law Tom (Betsy) McSoley, and sisters in-law Susan (Jim) Foust and Carol (Eric) Sluder. Kate will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family and dear friends. A Celebration of Kate McSoley’s Life will be held on July 17th at Leppert Mortuary Nora (740 East 86th St Indianapolis, IN 46240). Visitation will be from 1- 2:30PM, with a Celebration of Life Service following at 2:30PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in honor of Kate McSoley may be contributed to: Dyslexia Institute of Indiana, the Fishers YMCA or NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
