Duane E. Richardson, 91, of Kokomo, passed away at 1:19 PM Friday, November 15, 2019 at his residence. Born May 26, 1928 in Greens Fork, Indiana , he was the son of the late Charley Richardson and Mabel (Boggs) Richardson. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. On May 26, 1954, in Kokomo, he married Marine (Randolph), and she survives. Duane was employed with the Pennsylvania Railroad where he had been an engineer, conductor, and fireman. He worked for 32 years, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed reading and studying anything about history; a huge race fan and had been an official at the Indy 500 for 5 years; collected dishware and coins; loved his cat "Clyde", and was a member of the Kokomo Elks Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 65 years Marine Richardson of Kokomo; one son Mark (Hazel) Richardson of Galveston; one granddaughter Tasha (Steven) Rector; two great grandchildren Nolan and Natalie Rector; also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Michael Richardson; one brother Don Richardson; and one sister Vienna Saffer. The family would like to thank Ruth Stout, his caretaker for the excellent care she gave to Duane. A Memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM Tuesday December 3, 2019 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Pastor Kenny Cole will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Tuesday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
