Rosemary Delores Rodgers, 94, of Kokomo, passed away on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019 at 6:45 P.M. at Century Villa Health Care in Greentown. She was born to the late Chester "Chet" and Mary (Metz) Floyd on December 16, 1924 in Swayzee, IN. She married Glenn E. Rodgers on Feb. 23, 1946, and he preceded her in death on August 22, 1992. Rosemary dedicated her life to being a housewife and homemaker and was fiercely loyal and protective of her family, including her children and especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosemary was a member and past-president of Ladies Auxiliary and Cheer Guild for VFW Post #1152. She was also an avid supporter of We Care and never missed beginning and kick-off ceremony and watched and followed throughout the telethon. Until her health prevented her, she enjoyed shopping, going to dinner, and getting her hair styled. Rosemary also enjoyed collecting owls, cardinals, and Avon collectibles. She is survived by daughter, Saundra (Terry) Johnson; two sons, Glenn E. Rodgers Jr., and Michael Rodgers; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, Tabatha (Nicholas) Hammer; and 8 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; her parents; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth "Beth" Rodgers five sisters, Winifred Wittaker, Mazine Heronemus, Betty Helmholtz, Barbara Glosser, and Roxene Johnson; brother, Fredrick "Sonny" Floyd; granddaughters, Tammy Johnson and Terrena Johnson; and great-grandson, Cory Johnson. She will be forever loved and missed by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family would like to thank the nurses, aides, and other staff at Century Villa Health Care for their excellent care, compassion, and kindness extended to Rosemary and family. There will be a time of visitation for Rosemary on Friday, November 15 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. The funeral service will be Saturday at 1:00 P.M., also at the mortuary, with an hour of visitation prior to service. Pastor Matt Ellis will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden, Chapel of Peace. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rosemary's memory to We Care, Leukemia Society, or Parkinson's Research Foundation. Envelopes will be provided at the mortuary.
