William Charles Ross

William C. Ross, age 79 and of Kempton, Indiana, passed away on February 27, 2019 in Muncie, Indiana. He was born on May 19, 1939 to the late Nathanial and Edith Ross in Indiana. Following high school, William was married to Barbara Barnett, and they had two sons together. He and Barbara would later divorce. He was married to Marguerite Fields on December 21, 1986 in Florida. Marguerite preceded William in passing on October 2, 2003. William attended Kempton Christian Church, and worked for Bonnie Bakery as a truck driver for over 20 years. He also spent time working as a mechanic, and enjoyed restoring and showing cars. William also enjoyed traveling, particularly to Florida and Texas. William is survived by his sons, Michael (Marie) Ross, and Troy Ross; stepson, John DeLano; stepdaughters, Pamela DeLano, Maria (Manuel) Garcia Jr, Mary (Charles) Shaffer, and Angela Shaffer; brother, Robert (Pam) Ross; sister, Sharon; grandchildren, Eric DeLano, Manuel Garcia III, Marina Matias, Monica Lopez, Marisa Pesina, Michelle Beard, Melissa Pesina, Maria M. Mayen, Marcos Garcia, Micaias Garcia, Melanie Gifford, Matthew Garcia, Jamie Byrd, Jason Russell, Stacie Mills, Chris Smith III, Brandy Deramiah, LeAnn Sefton, James L. DeLano, Jennifer Shaffer, Brent Shaffer, Davina Hansen, Jessica Simpson, Penny Shaffer, William L. Shaffer, Jabian Shaffer, Jennifer Ross, and Lisa Ross. William also leaves several great grandchildren to cherish his memory. In addition to his parents and wife, William was preceded in passing by his stepsons, James DeLano and Joseph DeLano; stepdaughter, Rebecca Chavez; and siblings, James, Judy, and Phyllis. There will be a public visitation for William held at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 5th from 12 pm to 2 pm, with a funeral service immediately following. William will then be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
