Signora Woodson Dalton, 84, of Lynchburg and formerly of Rustburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Carrington. She was the loving wife of the late Ollie Bennett Dalton, Jr.
Born on June 20, 1933 in Nelson County, she was the daughter of the late James Roy Woodson and the late Ruth Ballew Woodson. Signora retired from Central Virginia Training Center after 22 years of service. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and enjoyed collecting rocks and coins, making jewelry from rocks, and crocheting.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Tyree and a brother, Cecil Woodson.
She is survived by her daughter, Alice Clingenpeel and husband Eddie; step-children, Linda Seacrist, Ronnie Dalton, Cathy Dalton (Kenny), Susan Tyree, Bobby Dalton, and Charles Hendricks; two grandchildren, Brenton Evans and wife Marie and Renee Carter and husband Jermaine; two step-grandchildren, David Clingenpeel and wife Annemarie and Andrew Clingenpeel; four great grandchildren, Makayla Evans, Alex Evans, Jayce Evans, and Javion Carter; sister, Cassie Stewart; and numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 pm on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
A graveside service will be held at 3 pm on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Fort Hill Memorial Park, with Pastor HB Enochs officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Faith Baptist Church, 968 Village Hwy, Rustburg, VA 24588.
