Wanda Brooks Paris

Wanda Brooks Paris, 61, of Lynchburg passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Lynchburg, April 2, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Robert R. “Charlie” Brooks and Mary Louise Campbell Brooks. She was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church. Wanda was a loving wife, mother, step-mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Robert “Truck” Paris; one son, Dennis Wade, Jr., five step-children, Bobby Paris, Jessica Hayes, Shyann Paris, John Rowland, III and Amy Rowland; three sisters, Cindy Weymouth and husband Joe, Kathy Goff and husband Freddie and Susie Horsley and husband Fred; a special Aunt, Judy Brooks and two special nieces, Christy Brooks Chandler and Sara Kay Carmichael eleven grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, one daughter Amanda Louise Rowland; two brothers, Terry Brooks and Bobby Brooks and one sister, Janet Kay Carmichael preceded her in death. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel. Inurnment services will be scheduled later at Fort Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Central Baptist Church, 1417 Florida Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
