Lorene Edwards Gardner

Lorene Edwards Gardner, 85, of Martinsville passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018. She was born in Hillsville, VA on March 19, 1933 to Dewey and Charity Edwards. In addition to her parents, Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Elemander Gardner; her son, Keith Elemander Gardner. Surviving are her daughter, Felicia Gardner-Galyean and husband, David; brother, Ralph Edwards, and wife, Dorothy, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lorene was a very devoted mother who loved her family, friends, and her Church. She also loved working puzzles, reading, going to Myrtle Beach and the mountains. She retired as a food service manager at Mt. Olivet School. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Chatham Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Michael Hatfield officiating. Interment will be held at Roselawn Burial Park. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Chatham Heights Baptist Church, 1235 Old Chatham Road, Martinsville, VA 24112.
