Adelaine Rose Davenport

Just 34 hours after coming into this world, Adelaine Rose Davenport passed away peacefully in her mother’s arms at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond, VA on Friday, March 15, 2019. During that short time, she touched many lives and was loved by all who met her. Born 17 weeks early, weighing only 1 pound, 8 ounces, and measuring 11.5 inches in length, Adelaine was still able to kick her arms and legs and respond to her mother’s touch during her brief stay on earth. She was born at 9:58 a.m. on March 14, 2019 and passed the next day at 8:17 p.m. Left to cherish Adelaine’s memory are her mother, Jodie J. Engelbrecht; grandfather, Clyde C. Davenport; aunt, Jennifer L. Davenport; great uncles, Donald Davenport (Chuck Unger); and Jim Davenport (Luanne); as well as numerous extended family members and friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Retreat Hospital in the Emergency Department as well as the NICU staff and NICU transfer team at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital for their care and dedication. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Woody Funeral Home – Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23116, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
