Henrietta Diaz Tosoc

Henrietta Diaz Tosoc Norfolk - Henrietta Diaz Tosoc, 87, passed away December 29, 2017. She was born in Legaspi City, Philippines on June 5, 1930. Henrietta graduated from the National Teachers College in Manila, Philippines with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She was a loving and dedicated wife and a devoted mother of three children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Saturnino Villaranda Tosoc, a veteran of the United States Navy. Ettie and Satur grew up in the same Bicol region of the Philippines and would marry later in life on January 2, 1960 in Quezon City, Philippines. Henrietta started her career as an elementary school teacher in the Philippines. After immigrating to the United States after marriage, she continued teaching for several years. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and was an avid reader, loved people and knew no stranger. She is survived by her children, Henrisa D. Tosoc-Haskell (Jerry), Hernani Patrick Diaz Tosoc (Becky Fenson) and Hedeliza Peak (Larry); two grandchildren, Alex and Jackie Peak; three brothers, Stephen Diaz of Texas, Rudy Diaz of Canada, and Manuel Diaz of the Philippines. Also left to cherish her memory are many beloved nieces, nephews and family and friends. The family will receive family and friends on Friday, January 5th from 6pm to 8pm at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 6th at 11am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, followed by interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
