Ruth E. Springer

Ruth E. Springer, 91, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center. Ruth was born September 13, 1929 in Woodburn, IN, daughter of the late Albert and Meta (Kelpin) Gerbers. She worked as a secretary for Yoder Grain for 26 years helping her husband, Edward. Ruth was an active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing cards with friends, reading, and sewing blankets for the church. Surviving are her children, Lisa (Zane) Reed of Ossian, Gregg (Dalene) Springer of Fort Wayne, Gary (Nancy) Springer of Ossian, and Eric (Sue) Springer of Uniondale; seven grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Springer in 2020; sisters, Ellen and Willadean; and brothers, Herbert, Gerold, and Willard. A private family service will take place at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 16933 Thiele Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
