Arline McCoy Long

Mary Arline McCoy Long,96, of Richmond, Va., went to be with the Lord on October 8, 2018. Arline was born on September 12, 1922 in Alleghany County, Va., into a large family of six brothers and sisters, who have all preceded her in death. Arline married Owen B. Long and moved to Richmond in 1952. She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen, in 2008; and is survived by her daughter, Mary S. Long. Arline worked in personnel for over 40 years for the Virginia State Health Department. She was a longtime member of Lakeside United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229, from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2018. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018, at Lakeside UMC, 2333 Hilliard Rd., Henrico, Va. 23228. Following the service, interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Ave., Richmond, Va. 23228. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to Lakeside UMC.
