Harol Parker Haney

HANEY, Harol Parker, 83 passed away June 16, 2018. He was born January 3, 1935 in Fincastle, VA but spent his young life in Greene County, VA. He is predeceased by his parents George R. Haney and Maudette Powell Haney, his brother Davis L. Haney and son in law, George E. Moore, III. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Jane Marshall Haney and 3 daughters, Janet H. Moore, Allison P. Schneider and husband, Captain N. Dewitt Schneider, Ellen H. Brooks and husband, Keith T. Brooks. 7 grandchildren: George Edward Moore, IV, Christy P. Moore, Tylar Schneider Harrod (Seth), K. Grant Schneider, N. Luke Schneider, Savannah K. Brooks, and Ashlynn V. Brooks. Harol was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, employed 32 years for United Parcel Service and a shop steward for Teamsters Local 322 for 25 years. He worked part time at Miller & Rhoads for a few years at night. He was a member of Derbyshire Baptist Church for 56 years and drove the church bus for 34 years. His service will be Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 11:00 am at Derbyshire Baptist Church, 8800 Derbyshire Rd, Richmond, VA 23229. Donations can be made to the Derbyshire Baptist Church bus ministry. Reception will follow service and graveside at Greenwood Memorial Gardens at 1:30pm.
