James Richard Parker

Of Springfield, VA on September 10, at the age of 78. Beloved husband of 51 and a half years to Charlene; also survived by sister-in-law Dee Parker and nieces Karen Gamble of Raleigh, NC and Judy Passadore of Portland, OR; and great niece and nephew Becky and John Gamble; as well as various cousins. Jim retired from the Department of State as a Foreign Service officer after serving in the US Air Force. He was a Ham radio operator, W4EKB, for over 60 years, and a Shriner in the El Katif Temple in Spokane, WA. A memorial service to celebrate James’ life will be held on Saturday, September 22 at 10 am at Demaine Funeral Home, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in James’ memory to Shriners’ Hospital for Children – Spokane, 911 W. 5th Ave, Spokane, WA 99204.
