Janet E. Pilecki, 91 years old, of Annandale, Virginia, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 12, 2021 in Arlington, Virginia.
Jan was born in Derby, Connecticut to Henry J. Krulikoski and Jennie (Peloski) Krulikoski, on June 16, 1930. She grew up in Naugatuck, Connecticut, attended Naugatuck High School (’47) then proceeded to The Traphagen School of Fashion in New York City. She married her childhood sweetheart, Edward J. Pilecki (Lt. Col., USAF) in 1952. While being a military spouse, she completed assignments in Berlin, Germany; Plattsburg, New York; Guam; Miami, Florida and finally Andrews AFB, outside of Washington DC. They settled in Annandale, Virginia in 1972.
Through the years she had worked as a Bridal Consultant, Art Teacher, and finally a Realtor in Northern Virginia.
Jan and her husband were long-time parishioners at St. Michael’s Church in Annandale, Virginia. They were members of its choir for many years. Additionally, they were active in the Aramathean Funeral Ministry at the Arlington National Cemetery.
Jan was a talented artist and seamstress, a lover of a good time – hosting many parties over the years, and a friend to many.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Edward, on April 13, 2020.
She will be dearly missed by son Michael Pilecki, daughter Carol Pilecki, son-in-law Ward Dennis, and grandchildren Luc and Julia Dennis.
Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date with a funeral service the same day. Updated information can be found at www.demainefunerals.com
