Dear Family of Roy, My prayers and thoughts go out to you at this time of your deepest grief. I interacted with Roy daily during my early years at HUD. He helped me understand one of the financial processes. It was obvious that he was a wealth of knowledge and took great pride in his work. I was pleased that he was one of those rare individuals that was generous enough to share his knowledge to the new generations of HUD employees. His passing comes as a shock even to many of his colleagues. Our greatest wish for dedicated employees like Roy is for them to enjoy their golden years in the retirement that they have earned being a loyal and dedicated public servant. May you be blessed with comfort and friendship in the days ahead. In sympathy, Colleen Weiser

Roy was one of the first people at HUD to welcome me to the office. His office was right across the hall so he would come over to my desk daily with his friend of 50 years, Lee, and just talk about everything. Before long, they became my lunch buddies, AKA "The Think Tank", along with several other great people and we would try to solve the world's problems in the one hour designated for lunch every day. Most often we didn't agree on things, but we enjoyed the debate. He would brag about his grand children and share pictures of them. He would also be sure to keep us entertained with articles of interest and practical jokes, usually starting at 5:30AM! I made it a priority to visit Roy and Marcia at the Loft Gallery whenever I was in Occoquan, which was quite often. The Loft Gallery was feeling like my second home, always welcoming and comfortable. I could depend on him to let me know the town's schedule of events so that I wouldn't miss them. Now, whenever I think of HUD or Occoquan, I think of Roy. He was a very good friend and certainly will be missed. There is a hole in my heart that cannot be filled without thinking of Roy. I will be praying for you, Marcia, and your family. Feel free to call me if I can be of any help.

A co-worker whom I never had a chance to meet but I feel his spirit and can tell that he was a great man! He will be missed by many but his memories will live on in those whose paths he crossed. May he rest in peace and in heaven. To the Family, may you be comforted during this trying time.

To the Weidler Family, from the time Roy came over to SFIOD, we made a talking friendship that I will never forget, the two earliest people in the office at 6 am, the talks and laughs about his Redskins and my Cowboys. I will never get. You wanted him but the Lord wanted him more. We will never know the Lords reasons, but always keep the memories of Roy in your heart. May God Bless all of you at this time of Sorrow. Rest In Heavenly Peace Roy.
