Cletis Wilson Brinkley, Jr., 82, formerly of Fraser Lane, died at 1:32 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at King's Daughters' Community Heath Center, 1410 N. Augusta St., Staunton.
He was born Jan. 2, 1929, in Bath County, the son of the late Cletis Wilson Sr. and Lettie Stinespring Brinkley.
He was a Navy Veteran, a member of Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church and retired as a meat cutter from Shop and Save.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Brinkley, a son, Douglas Brinkley, two brothers, Trimble Brinkley, Mondo Brinkley, three sisters, Edmonia Loan, Ava Cash and Lellian Searson.
Survivors include a brother, Blair Brinkley of Washington state, three sisters, Shirley Wiseman of Staunton, Agnes Pursley of Vacova, Nancy Schoenthaler of Staunton, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Robert W. Sharp officiating.
There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home, friends may call at the funeral home from 12 noon until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 18 W. Frederick St., Staunton.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
