Dorothea Dottie Catherine Koerner

Dorothea Catherine Koerner, 101, of Greenwood and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017. She was born on February 16, 1916 in Terre Haute to Hershal Winewillmer and Estella Carbon Winemiller. Dottie was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School, and had worked at Union Hospital as a Nurses’ Aid. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Koerner; two sons, Herman Anton “Tony” Koerner and David A. Koerner; and two sisters, Jessie Price and Ruth Ann Turner. Dottie is survived by her daughter, Rita K. Waltz; a son, Robert O. Koerner; a sister, Mary Lou Misch; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2 P.M. at Roselawn Memorial Park. Dottie is fondly remembered for her love of gardening and care of people.
