Dorothy Ilene DeLatte

Dorothy Ilene DeLatte, 93, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Springhill Village. She was born on December 27, 1926, in Mitchell, IN to William and Agnes (Hotz) Jeffries. Ilene is survived by her daughter, Rhea Dawn McLaughlin (John); two granddaughters, Laurie McLaughlin and Lisa McLaughlin-Rogstad; three sisters-in-law, Gladys Manis, Millie Edwards, and Eleanor DeLatte; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband George DeLatte; brothers, William, Paul, Bert, and Robert Jeffries; and a sister, Wilma J. Bowden. Ilene worked for 39 years as a supervisor for Sears and Roebuck. She was also the Secretary of Treasury for the fire department in Royse City, Texas. She attended the Garland Baptist Church in Garland, Texas. After retirement, Ilene and George moved back to Terre Haute in 1999. Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
